Steve “JR” Watkins, II
Steve “JR” Watkins began his construction career as a youth, shadowing his father. During his schooling years and into college, he continued to learn and gain valuable experience while working for the family business. In the early ‘90s, JR worked in the field as a roofing, coating, and waterproofing specialist, and continued to do so until 2000 when he passed the GC exam.
JR was promoted to VP – Director of Field Operations in October of 2000. During that time he was responsible for all field operations including; assisting in developing repair scopes, cost estimates, project completion per the scope, and client interaction. He oversaw the efforts of the Sr. Project Manager, project supervisors, carpenters, laborers, and all subcontractors.
Because of his experience in all phases of the building and rebuilding process JR proved to be a valuable resource to his father, Steve. His father, who was the company President was primarily focused on consulting and expert witness in construction litigation cases.
In his current position as President of Watkins Services Inc, JR is responsible for all activities of the company. He has taken his construction knowledge and transitioned from the field to the consulting side of the company assisting construction litigation attorneys, property managers, and homeowners with comprehensive litigation support.
JR specializes in multifamily and commercial projects including; destructive testing and forensic analysis, construction and litigation consulting, and full project remediation. He has worked on hundreds of projects with an accumulated value of over $60 million.
